2-Day Design Thinking Workshop, April 2018
What is Design Thinking?
Developed and popularized by Stanford D. School in the US, Design Thinking is a systematic process of thinking which:
Encourages us to focus on the people that we are creating solutions for- by taking action, changing our mindsets, and asking the right questions differently.
Empowers us to develop new, innovative, and creative solutions to the problem at hand.
What will I learn in this workshop?
Our 2-day Design Thinking Workshop is a dynamic mix of short teaching sessions, demonstrations, and guided, hands-on, teamwork.
You’ll learn the 3 essential aspects of Design Thinking from our highly experienced DT coaches:
Take a human-centred approach to get to the core of any problem
Generate ideas fast that impacts meaningfully and powerfully.
Be bold and confident in how you approach problems - big or small.
And the best part, you’ll get to put those new tools into practice immediately with a real-world challenge.
You and your teammates will hit the ground running, interviewing and observing users in the field to understand what motivates them. Then, you’ll head back to the workshop to ideate and prototype, test, and retest to develop fresh, innovative solutions.
When you immerse yourself in it, Design Thinking helps you:
Get into the mindsets and needs of the people you're creating for.
Gain a clear idea of needs of these people and how to meet them with your creative solutions.
How will I benefit from this?
As you put your knowledge to work on the design challenge, you’ll learn how to:
Improve your interview and observation techniques to better understand customer motivations.
Understand how to define and reframe problems based on the emotional needs of customers.
Develop a just-try-it mentality through rapid prototyping and iteration.
Learn how to embrace diversity of opinion using a common process for design.
You’ll learn to harness the power of design thinking and translate what you’ve learned to your own team and organisation to drive creativity and innovation.
To ensure your are able to implement the design thinking principles and practices you’ve learned, we will work hand-in-hand with you as you tackle real work projects and provide post-program coaching or support.
What will be my takeaways?
An action plan to bring new ways of driving innovation to your team or organisation.
Relevant and real-world case studies of design thinking in practice
Connect and network with like-minded peers from different industries.
